MECHANICS

Powell General Electric operates as a branch within the Lobotomy Corporation universe, with the main storyline unfolding at the Lobotomy Corporation headquarters. The game will be used for pacing purposes as well as determining which Angels (abnormalities) will appear in Powell General Electic.

GUIDELINES FOR ROLEPLAYING ANGELS

Reading up on the Abnormalities is recommended but not mandatory. Angels should function as a plot device to enhance your roleplays.

LOW RISK

Minor, isolated incidents that affect only a small number of agents and remain contained without major disruption.

  • Routine work in the containment unit (Instinct, Insight, Attachment, Repression)
  • Minor disturbances, such as panicked or disoriented employees
  • Brief abnormal behavior from an Angel that does not escalate
  • Non-violent hallucinations experienced by a few agents

Moderation: Member-run; no higher moderation or moderation checks required

MID-LEVEL RISK

Incidents that pose a moderate risk to facility operations but remain manageable. These events are widely known to the department but do not require management intervention.

  • Contained Angel breaches that affect a single room or a small section of the facility
  • Ordeals that disrupt normal operations but do not threaten the entire department
  • Employees exhibiting unstable behavior (e.g., hysteria, paranoia, aggression)
  • Partial containment failure requiring immediate response but not full lockdown
  • Temporary loss of communication or surveillance in a specific area

Moderation: Member-run; higher moderation not required for lower-risk Angels (Zayin-Teth), but coordination is encouraged for larger events

HIGH RISK

Critical incidents that endanger the entire department or facility. These situations require a coordinated response and affect a significant number of agents.

The entire facility will be informed of these events.

  • Full-scale breaches involving high-risk Angels (WAW or ALEPH)
  • Department-wide Ordeals that pose a major threat to employees and containment systems
  • Multiple simultaneous breaches or cascading failures in containment
  • Mass employee insanity events leading to widespread panic or casualties
  • Structural damage to containment units or major facility systems
  • Forced evacuation or emergency lockdowns due to extreme threats

Moderation: Member-run with a moderation check

Member-hosted missions

This format is required for submitting a mission in the `#mission-posting` channel. Missions eligible for bonus rewards must be approved by a moderator before posting. Once approved, a moderator will handle posting it to the channel—typically one week before the mission is scheduled to occur.

Mission Template

  • Title Name of the mission
  • Host(s) The person(s) running the session (GM/DM)
  • Schedule Date and time of the mission
  • Duration Estimated length of the mission
  • Participants Number of players (and eventual list of participants)
  • Warnings Content or themes that require a content warning
  • Summary A brief overview of the mission
  • Additional Information (Optional) Notes relevant to tone, special mechanics, etc.

Angel Involvement & Risk Assessment

If your mission involves an Angel, review the risk guidelines to determine its scope and impact on the facility:
  • Low Risk Takes place within a single containment room or corridor. Only involved agents are aware.
  • Mid Risk Involves most of a department. All agents in that department will know.
  • High Risk Affects the entire facility. Everyone will know.

Angel-Specific Details (If Applicable)

  • Angel Involved Name or designation of the Angel
  • Angel Mechanics If you want to feature a specific trait or ability of the Angel, it must be approved by a moderator. This ensures lore consistency and helps determine risk level. (Adhering strictly to in-game mechanics is optional, but please consult with a mod.)

Outline

Include a general outline or bullet-point breakdown of what the mission will cover. This helps moderators understand your intent, pacing, and flag any issues before approval.

Template

Below is the 'copy-paste' template. DM this to a moderator for your mission to be approved!

STATS

FORTITUDE (HP) 0 2 2 3 4 11
PRUDENCE (Sanity) 0 2 2 3 4 11
TEMPERENCE (Work speed) 0 2 2 3 4 11
JUSTICE (Strength/Speed) 0 3 6 9 12 30
Fig. 1: How many stat points are required to level up a stat

Agents have both an overall level and individual stat levels, such as Fortitude II or Prudence II. Buffs and debuffs are determined by the risk level of the Angel and pertain to agents with stats in level II and level IV.

LEVELING

EARNING STAT POINTS

To earn stat points, members must complete roleplay prompts and/or work objectives to gain EXP.

  • 15 EXP = 1 stat point

You can earn EXP in the following ways:

  • Completing any roleplay prompt = 2 EXP
  • Completing a work objective = 2 EXP
  • Completing a mission will earn you 4 EXP.
  • Hosting a mission will earn you an extra 2 EXP on top of completion.
  • Completing an RP prompt from your department earns you an extra 1 EXP on top of completing any RP prompt.

Be sure to follow the format posted in #exp-submissions to log your progress and keep track of your total EXP!

Players submitting art for EXP must ensure the piece is polished, with clean linework and a simple render (or just a simple render if you primarily paint), and a background.

LEVELING UP

In addition to individual stat levels, each Agent also has an overall level based on the total number of stat points they’ve accumulated.

(In the game, this is determined by how points are distributed across all stats, but for simplicity, we’ll go by total points instead.)

All Agents start at Level III.

  • Level III – 21 stat points
  • Level IV – 35 stat points
  • Level V – 40+ stat points

The maximum number of stat points an Agent can have is 63.

**Raising a stat typically requires more than one stat point.

SANITY

This stat refers to your Agent's stress level. Stress levels—or sanity—can decrease under various conditions: interacting with certain Angels, experiencing containment breaches, or being affected by stress-inducing actions from other Agents.

When an Agent becomes too stressed, they enter a state of panic and exhibits one of the following actions: murder, suicide, inducing panic in others, or sabotage. The specific action exhibited is determined by the character’s highest stat.

Failing a Prudence roll will induce a state of panic in your agent.

HIGHEST TRAIT ACTION
Fortitude Murder
Prudence Suicide
Temperance Inducing panic in others
Justice Sabotage

NON-PERMANENT DEATH

Your character will not have any recollection of their death.

Agents can die due to an Angel breach, during their own episode of insanity, or as a consequence of another employee's insanity.
